Madelene has studied piano since the age of 8. She was awarded a scholarship to attend the Interlochen Center for the Arts for two summers in a row as a piano major, minoring in flute and dance. She was also awarded a full-tuition scholarship to attend the University of Illinois for her undergraduate degree as a piano performance major.
She was one of 7 people to participate in a summer masterclass at The University of Texas at Austin on full scholarship, Oberlin College summer piano camp, where she performed Chopin's Ballade No. 4 , ISYM , and Jacobs School of Music Piano Academy at Indiana University.
She was the Assistant Music Director of St. Benedict Parish in Chicago from 2001-2003. During this time, she accompanied the choir and played Catholic masses every month on piano.
